Terms & Conditions

The rules that apply when you use our website, guides and network tools, and the contract terms that apply when you order consulting, assessment or mentoring services.

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of roadtoneteng.com and any services you order from Network Admin Journey. Please read them carefully. They explain what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and how responsibility is shared when we work on your network.

Last updated: October 14, 2026

In short: our guides and tools are free to use for learning but come without guarantees; paid services are delivered remotely under the scope agreed for your order; you stay responsible for backups and access to your own systems; and our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service concerned, except where the law does not allow such a limit.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the website, creating an account, posting a comment or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by the policies referred to in them, including our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or our services.

If you accept these Terms on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation, and “you” refers to that organisation as well as to you personally.

2. Definitions

In these Terms the following words have the meanings below:

“We”, “us”, “our”
Network Admin Journey, the operator of the website and provider of the Services.
“You”, “your”, “Client”
Any person or organisation that visits the website or orders Services from us.
“Website”
roadtoneteng.com and all its pages.
“Content”
The articles, guides, checklists, diagrams, roadmaps and code samples we publish on the Website.
“Tools”
The interactive calculators and utilities available at /network-tools/ and elsewhere on the Website.
“Services”
The paid consulting, assessment, setup, hardening, documentation and mentoring services listed in our shop or described in a Quote.
“Order”
Your purchase of a Service through the Website checkout, or your written acceptance of a Quote.
“Quote”
A written proposal from us describing a Service, its scope, price and timing, which may be sent by email.
“Deliverables”
The reports, configurations, diagrams, documentation, study plans and other materials we create specifically for you as part of a Service.
“Client Systems”
The networks, devices, software, cloud accounts and data that you own or control and that we work on or access while delivering a Service.

3. Eligibility

You may browse the Website and use the free Content and Tools at any age permitted by the laws of your country, but the Website is not directed at children under 16. To create an account, post comments or order Services you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) and able to enter into a legally binding contract. Services are intended for businesses and for individuals pursuing professional development. You must not use the Services if you are prohibited from doing so under the laws that apply to you, including sanctions and export control laws.

4. Customer accounts

You may create an account at My account, either separately or during checkout. You agree to:

  • provide accurate, current and complete information and keep it up to date;
  • keep your password confidential and use a strong, unique password;
  • notify us promptly at contact@roadtoneteng.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account;
  • accept responsibility for activity that takes place under your account, unless it results from our own failure to take reasonable security measures.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, appears compromised, or has been inactive for an extended period. You can ask us to close your account at any time.

5. Services and ordering

5.1 Service descriptions

Each Service in our shop, such as the Network Health Assessment or CCNA Mentorship Program, has a description setting out what is included, the expected duration and how it is delivered. Services are “virtual” products: nothing is physically shipped. They are delivered remotely by video call, email, shared documents and secure remote access. On-site work is available only by separate written agreement.

5.2 How the ordering process works

Orders are placed through our WooCommerce checkout. When you place an Order you are making an offer to buy the Service on these Terms. After checkout you will receive an automatic email acknowledging your Order; this acknowledgement does not mean we have accepted it. A contract between us is formed when we confirm acceptance by email, or when we begin providing the Service, whichever happens first.

We may decline an Order, for example if the Service is not suitable for your environment, if we do not have capacity in the timeframe you need, if the price shown was a clear error, or if we cannot verify payment. If we decline an Order after you have paid, we will refund you in full.

5.3 Onboarding

After accepting your Order, we will schedule a kickoff call or send an intake questionnaire. Timeframes start once we have the information and access we reasonably need.

6. Quotes and scope of work

For larger or custom engagements we may provide a Quote rather than a fixed shop price. A Quote is valid for 30 days unless it states otherwise and becomes binding when you accept it in writing, including by email, or pay the associated invoice or deposit.

The scope of each Service is limited to what is described on the Service page or in the Quote. Anything not expressly included is outside scope. Networks are rarely exactly as documented, so if during the work we discover issues, devices or requirements that were not known when the Order was placed, we will tell you and propose either a change to the scope, timeline and price, or a separate follow-up engagement. We will not carry out out-of-scope work that changes the price without your prior written approval.

Either of us may request changes to the scope. Changes take effect only when both of us have agreed them in writing.

7. Pricing and taxes

Prices are shown in US dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise. Shop prices are fixed for the scope described. We may change prices on the Website at any time, but a change will not affect Orders we have already accepted.

Depending on your location and status (business or consumer), sales tax, VAT, GST or similar taxes may apply. Where we are required to collect such taxes, they will be calculated and shown at checkout or on your invoice. If you are a business customer and provide a valid tax registration number, reverse-charge rules may apply, in which case you are responsible for accounting for the tax. You are responsible for any bank fees, currency conversion charges or withholding taxes imposed by your bank or jurisdiction, unless the law requires otherwise.

8. Payment

Payment for shop Orders is taken in full at checkout through our payment processors (for example Stripe or PayPal). By submitting payment details you confirm that you are authorised to use the chosen payment method. We do not receive or store your full card details; they are handled by the payment processor under its own terms and security standards.

For Quoted engagements, we may require a deposit before work begins and issue invoices for the balance at agreed milestones. Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue unless the Quote says otherwise. If an invoice is overdue, we may pause work after giving you written notice until payment is received, and timelines will be extended accordingly. We will not charge late-payment interest unless it has been agreed in the Quote or is permitted by applicable law.

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us at contact@roadtoneteng.com before raising a chargeback.

9. Scheduling and client responsibilities

Successful network work is a partnership. To allow us to deliver the Services safely and on time, you agree to:

  • Provide timely access: give us the remote access, credentials, device information, documentation and contacts we reasonably request, using the secure method we agree, and revoke or rotate any temporary credentials once the work is complete;
  • Confirm authority: ensure you own the Client Systems or have permission from their owner for us to access, scan, test and change them as part of the Service;
  • Maintain backups: take and verify current backups of device configurations, systems and data before any change window, and keep them under your control. We may take our own configuration snapshots as a precaution, but this does not replace your responsibility for backups;
  • Agree change windows: agree with us in advance the times when changes may be made to production systems, inform your users of possible disruption, and make a decision-maker available during the window;
  • Review and approve: review proposed changes and Deliverables promptly, and tell us about any concerns or inaccuracies within a reasonable time;
  • Keep appointments: attend scheduled calls and mentoring sessions, and give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule.

If a session is missed without notice, or delays in access or approvals prevent progress, we may treat the session as delivered or adjust the timeline, as described in our Refund Policy. We will always tell you before any additional charge applies.

10. Cancellations and refunds

Your rights to cancel an Order, reschedule, or receive a refund, including any statutory cancellation rights for consumers, are set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In particular, if you ask us to begin a Service within a statutory cancellation period, you may lose the right to cancel once the Service has been fully performed, and you may need to pay for work already done if you cancel part-way through.

11. Intellectual property and licence to Deliverables

11.1 Our Content and Tools

All Content, Tools, the Website design, the Network Admin Journey name and logo, and the underlying software (other than open-source components and third-party trademarks) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may read, print and save copies of the Content for your own personal, non-commercial learning or for internal use within your organisation, provided you keep any copyright notices. You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link back to the original page.

You must not, without our written permission, republish, sell, sublicense or redistribute substantial parts of the Content, present it as your own, use it to create a competing course or publication, or scrape the Website systematically, including for the purpose of training machine-learning models. If you believe material on the Website infringes your rights, please follow our DMCA Policy.

11.2 Deliverables

Once you have paid in full for a Service, we grant you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, copy and modify the Deliverables for the internal business or personal purposes of you and your organisation, including sharing them with your employees, contractors and IT providers who need them. Configurations and documentation describing your own network are yours to use as you see fit within your organisation.

We retain ownership of our pre-existing materials, templates, checklists, methodologies, scripts and know-how (“Background Materials”), including any improvements we make to them that are not specific to you. Where Background Materials are included in a Deliverable, they are covered by the licence above. We may reuse general knowledge and skills gained during the work, but we will not disclose your Confidential Information or identify you without your permission.

Until full payment is received, the licence to Deliverables is limited to evaluation. You may not resell Deliverables or offer them as a product or training course to third parties without our written consent.

11.3 Your materials

You retain all rights in the information, configurations and materials you provide to us. You grant us a limited licence to use them solely to deliver the Services to you.

12. Educational content and tools: no guarantee

The Content, Tools and learning roadmap are provided free of charge for general educational purposes. Networks differ greatly, and a configuration or procedure that is safe in one environment may cause an outage in another. Before applying anything you read or calculate on the Website to a production network, you should test it in a lab, check vendor documentation for your specific platform and software version, and follow your own organisation’s change-management process.

We work to keep our Content accurate, as described in our Editorial Policy, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, current or error-free, or that the Tools will produce correct results for every input. Mentoring can help you prepare for certifications such as the CCNA, but we do not guarantee that you will pass any exam, obtain a job or promotion, or achieve any particular outcome. See our Disclaimer for more information.

Certification names and vendor trademarks referred to on the Website belong to their respective owners. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any vendor or certification body unless we expressly say so.

13. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Website, Content, Tools or Services to:

  • break any law or regulation, or infringe anyone’s rights;
  • access, scan, test or attack any network or system you do not own or have explicit permission to test;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website, its servers, other users’ accounts or our systems, or to bypass security controls such as the Wordfence firewall;
  • introduce malware, run denial-of-service attacks, or place an unreasonable load on the Website through automated requests;
  • scrape, harvest or copy Content or user data by automated means, except for standard search-engine indexing that respects our robots directives;
  • impersonate any person, misrepresent your affiliation, or provide false information when ordering;
  • send spam or unsolicited promotions through our forms or comments.

Using knowledge gained from the Website against systems without authorisation breaches these Terms and may be a criminal offence. We may block access, remove content or suspend accounts that breach this section, and we may report illegal activity to the appropriate authorities.

14. User content and comments

Where comments are enabled, you confirm that anything you post is your own or that you have the right to share it, and that it is not unlawful, defamatory, harassing, misleading or spam and does not contain other people’s personal data, passwords or confidential configurations. For specific help, use our contact page instead.

You keep ownership of your comments but grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, moderate, edit for length or formatting, and remove them on the Website.

Comments reflect the views of their authors, not ours, and we are not responsible for advice given in them.

The Website contains links to third-party websites, vendor documentation, software downloads and services that we do not control. They are provided for convenience and reference only. We are not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices, and a link does not imply endorsement. Third-party software and services, including payment processors, are subject to their own terms.

16. Disclaimer of warranties

We warrant that we will perform paid Services with reasonable skill and care and substantially in accordance with the Service description or Quote. If a Deliverable does not meet that standard and you tell us within 14 days of delivery, we will correct it at no extra charge; that is your main remedy for such a defect, without affecting any rights you have under the Refund Policy or by law.

Apart from that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Website, Content and Tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted, secure or free from errors, or that any network will be free from vulnerabilities, outages or attacks after we have worked on it. Security is an ongoing process, and no assessment or hardening exercise can eliminate all risk.

Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights that cannot be excluded or limited, including consumer rights under the laws of the country where you live.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, anticipated savings or data, arising out of or in connection with the Website, Content, Tools or Services, even if we were advised of the possibility of such loss;
  • we are not liable for losses caused by your failure to keep adequate backups, to provide accurate information, to follow our written recommendations, or to obtain authorisation for the work, or by acts or omissions of your other suppliers or of third-party vendors;
  • our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any Order, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the total amount you paid us for the Service giving rise to the claim in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim;
  • our total liability in connection with the free Content and Tools is limited to USD 100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

18. Indemnity

If you are a business customer, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, damages and reasonable costs (including legal fees) brought by third parties that arise from: your breach of these Terms; your instructions to us to access or change systems you were not authorised to have us access or change; materials you provided that infringe a third party’s rights; or your unlawful use of the Website, Content or Deliverables. We will notify you promptly of any such claim and allow you reasonable control of its defence. This section does not apply to consumers except to the extent permitted by law.

19. Confidentiality

During a Service, each of us may receive non-public information from the other, such as network diagrams, configurations, credentials, security findings and business plans (“Confidential Information”). Each of us will use the other’s Confidential Information only for the Services, protect it with at least reasonable care, share it only with people who need to know it and are bound by equivalent obligations, and return or securely delete it on request or at the end of the engagement (except where retention is legally required or it sits in routine backups).

These obligations do not cover information that is public through no fault of the recipient, already lawfully known, independently developed, or required to be disclosed by law. Security findings, including vulnerabilities discovered in your systems, are treated as your Confidential Information. Confidentiality obligations continue for three years after the Service ends, and indefinitely for credentials and security findings. Where we process personal data on your behalf, we will do so in accordance with our Privacy Policy and, where required, a data processing agreement. We are happy to sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before an engagement begins.

20. Force majeure

Neither of us is liable for a delay or failure to perform obligations (other than payment obligations) caused by events beyond reasonable control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, war, government action, large-scale internet or power outages, third-party platform failures or widespread cyber-attacks. The affected party will notify the other promptly. If the event continues for more than 30 days, either of us may cancel the affected Order by written notice, and we will refund any amount paid for work not yet performed.

21. Termination

You may stop using the Website at any time and may cancel Orders as described in the Refund Policy. Either of us may terminate a Service by written notice if the other materially breaches these Terms and does not remedy the breach within 14 days of being asked to do so. We may also terminate a Service immediately if you ask us to carry out unlawful or unauthorised activity, or if continuing would create a serious security or safety risk.

On termination, you will pay for work performed up to the termination date, and we will deliver any completed Deliverables (subject to payment) and refund amounts paid for work not performed, where applicable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including those on intellectual property, confidentiality, warranties, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law, will continue to apply.

22. Governing law

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, including non-contractual disputes, are governed by the laws of the laws of the country and state in which Network Admin Journey is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. If you are a consumer, you will also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and nothing in these Terms takes those protections away.

23. Dispute resolution

If you have a concern, please contact us first at contact@roadtoneteng.com. Most issues can be resolved quickly by talking them through. Both of us agree to try in good faith to resolve any dispute informally within 30 days of written notice describing it.

If the dispute is not resolved informally, either of us may refer it to the courts of the laws of the country and state in which Network Admin Journey is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, which will have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where they live. Consumers in the EU may also be able to use an alternative dispute resolution body. Nothing in this section prevents either of us from seeking urgent injunctive relief to protect intellectual property or Confidential Information.

Any claim must be brought on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in a class or representative action, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

24. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time and will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date. Changes apply to Website use from the date posted. The Terms in force when you place an Order will apply to that Order, unless both of us agree otherwise in writing or a change is required by law. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let account holders know.

25. Severability and waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or, if that is not possible, removed, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force. A failure or delay by either of us in enforcing any right does not waive that right.

26. Entire agreement and other terms

These Terms, together with the Service description, any accepted Quote and the policies referred to above, form the entire agreement between you and us about their subject matter and replace any earlier discussions or understandings. If there is a conflict, an accepted Quote takes precedence over the Service description, which takes precedence over these Terms. Any purchase-order or other terms you send us do not apply unless we expressly agree to them in writing.

You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent; we may transfer ours to a successor business and will notify you. Any subcontractor we use is bound by confidentiality and remains our responsibility. Nothing here creates a partnership, employment or agency relationship, and no third party may enforce these Terms.
