Network Admin Journey respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects everyone who uses roadtoneteng.com to do the same. This DMCA Policy explains how we respond to claims of copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), 17 U.S.C. §512, and how you can submit a notice or a counter-notification.

Our commitment to intellectual property
Our guides, diagrams, checklists and network tools are written and built by us. When we quote documentation, standards or other works, we aim to do so sparingly, with attribution and within the limits of fair use or the applicable licence. When we use images that we did not create, we use openly licensed material and credit it properly (see Image licensing below).
Even so, mistakes can happen. If you believe that material on our website infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to enforce, we want to hear about it and we will act promptly. Equally, if your content was removed by mistake, this policy explains how to ask for it to be restored.
This policy applies to all content hosted on roadtoneteng.com, including articles, pages, product descriptions, comments and any files or images served from our domain. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to; please contact the operators of those websites directly.
How to file a takedown notice
To be effective under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), your notice must be in writing and must include substantially all of the following elements:
- Signature. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed. A typed full name at the end of an email is generally accepted as an electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single website are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
- Identification of the infringing material. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material. Please provide the full URL of each page and, where possible, describe the specific paragraph, image or file concerned.
- Your contact information. Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- Good-faith statement. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- Accuracy and authority statement. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Before sending a notice, please consider whether the use may be authorized by a licence (for example a Creative Commons licence) or may qualify as fair use, such as a short quotation for the purpose of commentary, criticism or teaching. Notices that do not substantially comply with the requirements above may not be acted upon, although we may contact you to ask for the missing information.
Designated agent contact
Please send DMCA notices and counter-notifications to our designated agent for copyright matters:
- Designated agent
- Copyright Agent, Network Admin Journey
- contact@roadtoneteng.com (please use the subject line “DMCA Notice” or “DMCA Counter-Notification”)
- Postal address
- Remote-first practice — postal address available on request
Email is the fastest way to reach us. Please send each notice only once; duplicate submissions through several channels can slow down processing. The designated agent address is intended only for copyright notices. General questions, service enquiries and support requests should be sent through our contact page and will not receive a response from this channel.
What happens after we receive a notice
When we receive a notice that substantially complies with §512(c)(3), we will typically:
- acknowledge receipt of the notice by email;
- review the notice and the material identified;
- remove or disable access to the material if the notice is valid;
- take reasonable steps to notify the person who posted the material, if it was provided by a user (for example in a comment), and give them a copy of the notice where appropriate;
- keep a record of the notice and the action taken.
Please note that a copy of your notice, including your contact details, may be shared with the person who provided the material so that they can respond, and may be forwarded to third parties such as the Lumen database where permitted by law. Personal information included in a notice is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Counter-notification
If material you provided was removed or disabled as a result of a DMCA notice and you believe in good faith that this was the result of a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to our designated agent. Under 17 U.S.C. §512(g)(3), a counter-notification must be in writing and include substantially the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location (URL) at which the material appeared before it was removed or access to it was disabled.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located or, if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which the service provider may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification or an agent of that person.
When we receive a valid counter-notification, we will promptly send a copy to the person who submitted the original notice and inform them that we will restore the removed material or cease disabling access to it in 10 business days. Unless our designated agent first receives notice that the original complainant has filed an action seeking a court order to restrain the alleged infringement, we will restore the material not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days after receiving the counter-notification.
Repeat infringer policy
In accordance with 17 U.S.C. §512(i), Network Admin Journey has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts and access of users who are repeat infringers. This includes customer accounts created through My Account and the ability to post comments. We may consider a user to be a repeat infringer if they have been the subject of more than one valid takedown notice that was not successfully challenged by counter-notification. We may also, at our discretion, limit access or terminate accounts of users who infringe the intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is repeat infringement.
Misrepresentation
Under 17 U.S.C. §512(f), any person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing, or that material or activity was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees, incurred by the alleged infringer, the copyright owner or the service provider. Please make sure that your notice or counter-notification is accurate. If you are unsure whether material infringes your rights, we suggest seeking independent legal advice before submitting a notice.
Image licensing
Many images used on this website, such as photographs of networking hardware, cabling and data-center equipment, are sourced from Wikimedia Commons and are used under Creative Commons licences (for example CC BY or CC BY-SA) or are in the public domain. Each of these images is credited, with the author, the licence and a link to the source file, on our Image Credits page.
If you are the author of an image we use and you believe the attribution is incorrect or incomplete, or that the image was uploaded to Wikimedia Commons without your permission, please contact us. In many cases, an attribution issue can be fixed quickly by correcting the credit, without the need for a formal DMCA notice. If the image was uploaded to Wikimedia Commons without authorization, we also recommend reporting it to Wikimedia so it can be addressed at the source.
Processing timeline
| Step | Typical timeframe |
|---|---|
| Acknowledgement of a notice or counter-notification | Within 2 business days |
| Review and action on a complete takedown notice | Usually within 5 business days |
| Request for missing information on an incomplete notice | Within 5 business days |
| Forwarding a valid counter-notification to the complainant | Promptly after receipt |
| Restoration of material after a valid counter-notification | 10 to 14 business days, unless a court action is notified |
These timeframes are targets, not guarantees. Complex notices, notices covering many URLs, or periods of high volume may take longer. We prioritize notices that are complete and clearly identify the material concerned.

We may update this DMCA Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or in how we operate. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. This policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions and Disclaimer.
